Original White Widow is Paradise Seeds’ biggest homage to the world acclaimed strain White Widow, developed in the 1990s. Possibly one of the most famous strains out there, White Widow is a plant of unimaginable powers which now can be experienced in its original form.
It all started in 1996, when Ingemar, known by many as ‘The Father of the White Widow’, gave Paradise Seeds a female clone of his White Widow plant. Since then, the group had been crossbreeding the plant with many of its other strains to enhance their quality. In 2012, however, the group realized perhaps it was about time to make the original strain available to the public and, just like that, the Original White Widow was born.
The Original White Widow is an In Bred Line (IBL), that originated from the combination of Ingemar’s White Widow and a carefully selected male White Widow plant. As such, the Original White Widow plant has all of the good qualities of the White Widow but better.
Like its mother, Original White Widow is a combination of sativa and hybrid genetics from Brazil and India. It is a 50/50 sativa/indica strain with big yields and hard hits. Owing its name to the Black Widow spider, White Widow is a potent plant instantly recognisable for its thick coating of white crystals and resinous buds, which come all the way back from its Indian ancestors in the mountainsides of Kerala.
At first bushy, as soon as it starts flowering this plant will show its stretching abilities. Resistant and reliable, this variety works fantastically well in setups that require training such as SOG, SCROG, LST and many others. Great for indoor and commercial growers, the Original White Widow produces fat tops and an abundance of trichomes, guaranteed to fill the room with a pleasant floral scent.
Ready to harvest after 8 to 9 weeks, this plant has a consistency in results that makes it perfect for beginners and pros alike. For outdoor gardeners, the Original White Widow will shoot to the skies reaching 2 meters or more. Southern growers will be more than pleased with the yield of the plant. Northern growers, on the other hand, won’t miss out on much as this plant performs very well also in moderate climates.
Unlike the White Widow, which can sometimes lack in flavour, the Original White Widow is an explosion of pine and floral notes. As for the effects, expect the same old potency of the White Widow. Definitely not for the faint hearted, the Original White Widow has a potent buzz that takes over the entire body. Indeed, even though this is a 50/50 sativa/indica strain, it is the indica powers that flood the lungs when it is smoked. Strong and long lasting, this strain might surprise even the most experienced smokers!
