More about Mushroom Growkit Ecuador
There are about 180 species of mushrooms on earth that contain the psychedelic substance psilocybin or psilocin. These mushrooms have been used as an important part of the culture since time immemorial. Various statues and paintings have been found where the mushroom is depicted, often with human features. In the Sahara many such works of art have been found, as well as in Central and South America. Temples built in honour of mushroom gods have been found here. The dates date back to 1000 to 500 BC.
In the 16th century, the Spanish priest Bernardino de Sahagún recorded what happened during such a mushroom ceremony of the Aztecs:
'...First they ate small, dark mushrooms, which they called nanacatl and made them drunk and made them hallucinate and lustful. Before sunset they ate these mushrooms with honey. When they felt the effects, they began to dance, some were singing, some were crying... When the drunken feeling of the mushroom disappeared, they spoke to each other about the visions they had had'.
Thus, this mysterious, magical mushroom also became known in the western world, and aroused the interest of academics. Research and expeditions began, with for the first time a Westerner taking part in a ceremony.
Gordon Wasson published an article in Life Magazine in 1957 recording this experience. As a result, everyone suddenly knew of the existence of these hitherto unknown customs.
In the 1960s, the psychedelic wave was also used for scientific research. Albert Hoffman has isolated the active ingredients psilocybin and psilocin from the psilocybe mushroom. Still only the veils of the magical effect of these mushrooms are lifted a little.
Current research on psychedelics
Currentely, several studies are dedicated to the effects of psychedelics, including psilocybin-containing mushrooms. Simple cognitive tests are used to evaluate the effect on the brain. The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) is an organisation that does a lot of work in this interesting field.
Tripping on magic mushrooms
A mushroom trip takes an average of 6 hours. The effects will occur the quickest if you haven't eaten for a couple of hours in advance, this is also recommended to avoid possible stomach cramps. You probably won't experience feelings of hunger during the trip, but it can be very nice to taste different flavours. Sugar can also help to give you energy. (Organic) fruit is the best choice and also tastes best during a mushroom trip because it is natural.
Provide plenty of water, headaches the next day can occur if you get dehydrated during the trip.
The effects of a trip are largely determined by your mood. It is important that you are comfortable and open to what is coming at you. Breathing deeply and not resisting helps enormously to make the trip run organically.
WARNING
Magic mushrooms are not toys nor partydrugs, so they should be used consciously. Make sure you get proper information before consumption. Never take more than 15 grams of fresh mushrooms when trying for the first time. Keep out of reach from children and pets. Do not use magic mushrooms when pregnant, in case of physical and/or mental problems, or when taking medication. Always consult a physician in case of doubt. Do not combine with alcohol or drugs.
Caution: The substrate contains gluten. The mushrooms themselves contain traces of this. Not suitable for people with (severe) gluten intolerance.
Note: Start growing as soon as you have received the grow kit. If this is not immediately possible, store the kit at a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius.
Usage
After harvesting your kit, you can keep the fresh mushrooms in the fridge for about a week. Since you will probably have more than enough for several trips, you can only keep the mushrooms for a long time by drying them. Note: this is forbidden in the Netherlands! You can consume magic mushrooms in different ways. The easiest way is to weigh your dose and eat it. The taste is not so great, so making a tea is a good alternative to improve the taste by adding herbs and a little honey.
