How does psilocybin work in the brain?
This substance has been under the attention of researchers and experts in recent years. Instead of being a dangerous and badly minded drug, it is becoming increasingly clear that it can be a valuable therapeutic tool.
When psilocybin is taken, it converts into psilocin. In terms of structure, this tryptamine is very similar to the neurotransmitter serotonin. This body's own substance determines to a large extent how you feel, whether you are hungry, sleep well... Psilocin binds itself to the serotonin receptors in our body and partially prevents the reuptake of serotonin. This is a factor that causes you to experience hallucinations.
The right dose
Determining the right dosage is fun but also delicate, you can quickly make a wrong assessment and be faced with surprises. It is therefore important that you use an accurate scale and take into account whether you are dealing with dry or wet weight.
There is also a difference in your goal: do you want to experience the subtle effects of a micro dose, or are you an experienced psychonaut and increase your dose to go deeper into the other dimension?
At the moment there are several studies going on into the therapeutic possibilities of psilocybin. Science shows us that interesting connections are being made between different parts of the brain, which normally don't communicate much with each other. This probably explains why many people gain new insights and can break through old patterns during a mushroom experience. Psilocybin can be interesting for people with an addiction. However, a treatment for this is often in combination with a therapist. When scientists studied the brain under the influence of psilocybin, they noticed that the seemingly chaotic activity was much more structural than thought. The patterns, or circles, that were formed showed an interesting collaboration or communication.
Addiction
You can't get physically addicted to psilocybin. Since your body builds up a tolerance very quickly, you can't trip more than once every 2 weeks to experience the full effect. Mentally there can be a dependency, although this is very rare. A study by the Global Drug Survey (2017) ranked psilocybin as just about the safest drug. Suprise: the drug with the highest reputation for addiction and harm to the user and society is alcohol.
WARNING
Magic mushrooms are not suitable for people under the age of 18 and for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use if you are driving a motorized vehicle. Do not combine with alcohol, other drugs and medicines.
Caution: The substrate contains gluten. The mushrooms themselves contain traces of this. Not suitable for people with (severe) gluten intolerance.
Note: Start growing as soon as you have received the grow kit. If this is not immediately possible, store the kit at a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius.
Usage
The best way to consume magic mushrooms is on a sober stomach. Do not eat 2 to 4 hours in advance. You can make tea from the mushrooms, or you can eat them like this (or dried).
