Super Sativa Seed Club: Best Cannabis Seeds? Discover Strain Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel
The Super Sativa Seed club, one of the first seed banks in the world. As a child of the 70's I can still remember the seed catalog. Not that I understood then what it was about, but I understood that the big people found the plants in this booklet more than interesting. Why, I only understood later, when I was among the big people myself and started to delve into it. Now, when growing their strains, that really makes for an interesting story.
Charles, Nevil, Sam and the Super Sativa Seed Club
The world's first official internationally operating seed bank was called The Seedbank and was founded by Nevil Schoenmakers here in the Netherlands. Known for the Neville's Haze. He was in a recovery program for his hard drug addiction and so even received a subsidy from the government to start this seed bank. Something that would be impossible today.
David Watson A.K.A. Sam the Skunkman A.K.A. Sam Selezny, lived in California and was part of a growers collective called Sacred Seeds Collective. A very potent strain he had developed with the Haze Brothers he renamed Skunk.
Hunted by the DEA, David moved to Holland and took a huge seed collection with him. Here he met Karel Schelfhout, he is one of the founders of the SSSC.
Breeding, growing and consuming cannabis was the lifestyle of the trio. Karel received the original Haze from Nevil and the Skunk#1 from Sam.
The first breeding from these became the basis of the Super Sativa seed Club. In the second half of the 1980s, the seed bank flourished and after a publication about the Super Sativa Seed Club in High Times magazine, they sold millions of seeds all over the world.
Unfortunately, it did not last. The founders went their separate ways and much of the seed collection was lost.
Karel continued to grow Old Haze in secret and thus managed to preserve the genetics. The name was renamed Old School Haze. Karel's son, Kees Schelfhout, also developed a keen interest in cannabis culture himself.
Together they breathed new life into the Super Sativa Seed Club and started breeding seeds again. Kees crossed the old genetics with new varieties of today. Thus was born Karel's Haze, a cross of the Old School Haze with a Chem Dog OG Fire. A Haze variety that finishes in 8-9 weeks. This cannabis strain produces thick fat buds with lots of resin. In the effect you notice that it is a sativa haze variety. Nice and lively with a creative high.
It was also in the 80's that Nevil experimented with Cannabis Ruderalis. This strain is the basis of all autoflowers. The species of Cannabis Ruderalis Inated in Eastern Europe and Asia. In areas where it is difficult for cannabis to survive due to cold, little sunlight and rocky soil. Their growth and flowering phase is not dependent on the length of the light period in a day. They will grow for a short time and then flower on their own. Hence the name, Automatic Flowering.
Because these plants don't get too big and are easy to grow outdoors, I have a few of them in my little garden every summer. With a little calculation and planning, you can have them bloom in July and August so they can enjoy the most sunshine. In doing so, you can grow several rounds of five plants in one season.
This way you stay within the tolerance policy and have an extra supply for the winter. That saves a few bucks because you don't have to go to the coffee shop. This year I was looking forward to cultivating the autoflowering seeds from the Super Sativa Seed Club: Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel.
Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel
For the terms "easy to grow" and "high yield" I am not sensitive anymore because of the years I have been growing plants. My interest in the Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel was therefore more triggered by the genetics that make up this strain. I was already a fan of the Lemon OG but now they go one step further.

The lemon OG, a descendant of the Skunk#1, was crossed with a phenotype of the Bruce Banner from the US and is based on the legendary New York City Diesel. Again, there is a nice cross from the Super Sativa Seed Club with older and the new strains. The Bruce Lemon Diesel was born. By adding ruderalis genes to this strain, they managed to make this a powerful autoflowering variant. The Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel.
Getting started with the Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel
I germinated the seed using the coffee filter method and it went really fast. After one day the seed had already come out and after two days the germ was big enough to put it in the soil. On day four it saw the light. For the first few days the young plant needs no nutrition. The germ has everything in it to come up in the first few days. Even later in the soil, just watering is sufficient.
The seedling grew very fast, so fast that the chlorophyll grew faster than the vein of the leaf. The leaves were crumpled because of this but she will grow over this. After about ten days it was big enough to repot the young plant into a large 18 liter pot. The reason for growing the seedling in a small pot is to better control the humidity of the soil.
Tip: Do not let the plant grow too long in a small pot. Once the roots have reached the bottom of the pot, this can affect the rest of the root development.
Guerrilla Tabs for the Super Sativa Seed Club autoflower
To feed the Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel, I used the Guerrilla Box from Biotabs this time. I put four Guerrilla Tabs about five inches deep into the soil around the plant, then started watering the soil. Not too much! If it's too wet around the roots it inhibits their growth.
Four weeks after germinating the Auto Bruce Lemmon Diesel the seedling had become a beautiful young plant. Time to give her some extra nutrition with the Guerrilla Juice from the Guerrilla Box. And that was just what she needed! The light color of the leaves showed but for this stage it's no problem, after the first feeding it will improve. And so it was, after a week the leaves turned a beautiful dark green again.
I never give a lot of water in the beginning of the growth and only a little nutrition. Through my experience I have noticed that this is an extra stimulus for the root system of the plant. If you keep a close eye on her so that she does not suffer too much, and if you adjust her nutrition in time, you will benefit from this during the blooming period.
With a larger root system the plant can absorb more nutrients when producing the flower tops. Furthermore you do not have to do too much when growing with the Guerrilla Tabs from the Guerrilla Box. Just water as needed and give a little Guerrilla Juice once a week.
The Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel in growth and flowering
She grew to a height of about 90 centimeters. With a thick main bud and several side shoots that also bore beautiful buds.
When she was about three-quarters of her height, the first signs of flowering began to show. Because of her compact build and large leaves, I removed some leaves at the beginning of the flowering phase to keep them from becoming too bushy. I have also trimmed off the lower two side branches so that the plant can put more energy into the higher buds that get the most light. Top formation is fast on this plant and she produces long flowering hairs.
The aromas of this plant are very noticeable as the buds develop. Slowly a thick layer of trichomes appears over the buds that make her even more fragrant. Especially in the last two weeks she produced a thick layer of resin.
The buds became so heavy that one side branch collapsed from the weight. Fortunately, it wasn't completely broken off the plant, just split. With binding wire, I was able to reattach it and it hardly suffered at all.
Last week, I put her away for two nights and one day completely in the dark and put ice cubes on and around the stem. The dark and cold give her an extra boost to make trichomes. After this I don't water anymore, because flushing or flushing is not necessary in an organic grow. Drying out the soil also gives an extra boost to trichome production.
By applying these stress techniques you give the plant the idea that winter is coming and she must do her best to be as potent as possible.
A celebration with the harvest of the Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel
From germination to harvest this plant needed 13 weeks. Harvesting autoflowers is easy. I only remove the large leaves that contain no trichomes. the rest I leave in place.
The downside with Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel was that no matter where you grabbed her, resin stuck to your fingers. After removing a few leaves I stuck to everything. I quickly washed my hands and put on gloves. I cut off the plant at the stem and hung it upside down in a drying room.
The drying process can begin, followed by the cure process. After going through all the processes, the Auto bruce Lemon Diesel comes out very well. Weighted, the weight comes out to 78 grams. Considering the size of the plant, this is not bad. The compact buds make the weight.
The description of this plant is very much in line with reality, which is sometimes different with autoflowers. Not only when it comes to the looks but also when it comes to the smell and taste of the Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel. A strong smelling top of cannabis with an intensity of skunk influences.
The potency is formed by OG genes in this plant. And a gassy taste that comes from the Diesel genes, as I would describe it. Feel free to grind a little of it during the day to smoke in a joint, pipe or bong for an energetic and creative high. But don't smoke too much of the Auto Bruce Lemon Diesel, it can also cause couch-lock. As mentioned, not for the novice stoner.
